The Gatehouse was established in 2015 as an initiative of projectHandUp, a Christian non-profit organization, in response to the increasing unemployment, underemployment, and hardships faced by women in the community. The organization aims to provide a place and program where women can receive the necessary time, resources, and relationships to create a foundation for permanent self-sustainability. The Gatehouse takes a holistic approach to help single women and women with children overcome temporary hardships and end cycles of underemployment or abuse. They offer support through a team of experts who provide hope, coaching, and the development of Personal Empowerment Plans. The Gatehouse Program focuses on the dignity of earned success and equips members with the skills to manage their financial, emotional, spiritual, and physical health.
